TAIPEI, TAIWAN (2 June, 2006) -- Acer's comprehensive product showcase at this year's Computex highlights LCD TVs and Empowering Technology that focuses on "Usability First!"  In the era of the Digital Home, Acer has designated the LCD TV as one of our strategic products for the coming few years. As such visitors may view our complete range of LCD TVs at Acer's Computex showcase, featuring the 20", 26", 32", 37" and 42" sizes, offering distinction, clarity and individual style.

Exemplifying our caring through innovation, each new product and service from Acer is tailored to meet our customer needs by empowering users to achieve the best that they can, living up to our long-term mission of breaking the barriers between people and technology. Acer's full product display includes notebooks, desktop PCs, LCD TVs, projectors, servers, cameras and handhelds.

Acer Empowering Technology is designed with "usability first" in mind, providing a series of practical and friendly features, accessible in just a few steps. One touch of the Empowering Key brings an intuitive user interface enabling quick adjustments of system configuration or settings. There are four themes under the Empowering Technology umbrella: mobility, security, utility and variety, with the latter encompassing digital home and multimedia entertainment. The Aspire iDea 500 is designed to transform the bulky home computer into one of the world's most stylish and quiet Media Center PCs. Powered by Intel® Core™ Duo processor running on Intel® Viiv™ compliant chipsets with support for High Definition, Dolby® Digital Live and DTS Connect, HDMI outputs and 7.1 (8 channel) analog audio processing, the Aspire iDea 500 is a stunning companion to HD-ready systems.

Acer's new Ferrari dual-core notebooks are the Ferrari 5000 and Ferrari 1000, both feature the exclusive carbon-fiber casing that conceals the very latest dual-core technology, and offers all the performance and elegance gained from the alliance between two company constantly focused on innovation and renowned for pushing the boundaries of technology. The Ferrari 5000 is equipped to be the technology leader in 15.4" desktop replacement segment. Performance-wise, the AMD Turion 64 X2 processor delivers the best power output for heavy-application users seeking for a notebook to keep peace with today's data processing needs. Meanwhile, the Ferrari 1000 redefines the shape of mobile perfection, with a sober design and absolute versatility. Its 12.1" Acer CrystalBrite™ wide screen presents stunning visuals thanks to ATI RADEON Xpress 1150 chipset supporting up to 512MB Hypermemory. Weighing 1.7kg, the Ferrari 1000 expresses superlative performance and seamless wireless and wired communication. In addition, the Acer OrbiCam™ positioned on top of the LCD panel allows real-time face-to-face communication.

Unveiled for the first time is a high-definition* (HD) solution notebook showcase ranging from 15.4", 17" and 20.1" wide screen LCD, covering the mainstream to high-end market and gaming enthusiast segments. The Acer HD notebooks - including Aspire 9800, Aspire 9510 and Aspire 9110 and Aspire 5670 - all support HD DVD-capable optical disk drives for delivering omnipresent high-definition content, enhancing interactivity and multimedia functions. They also offer the one-click Acer Video Conference solution that gives instant face-to-face communication with friends and family via a 1.3 megapixel Acer OrbiCam™ integrated camera. The 225¢X rotation of the camera permits users to show their audience images from both sides of the screen without having to turn the notebook around. An optional Acer Bluetooth® VoIP phone with echo cancellation and noise suppression offers users crystal-sounding IM and VoIP.
