Acer Inc. Q1~Q3 financial results: PAT NT$8.95B (US$276.01M), EPS NT$3.9

Q306 operating income up 30% from Q206

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (26 October, 2006) -- Acer reports the Q1~Q3 2006 financial results, following approval from the Board of Directors today. Profit after tax (PAT) was NT$8.953B (US$276.01M), operating income was NT$5.42B (US$166.97M) -- slightly better than the same period last year. Consolidated revenue reached NT$250.58B (US$7.73B), up 17.1% from the same period last year.

For Q3 2006, operating income was NT$1.98B (US$60.92M), up 30.4% from the second quarter, and growing by 11.1% from Q3 2005. Consolidated revenue reached NT$94.73B (US$2.92B), rising 30% from Q2 or 14.8% from Q3 2005.

Acer's 2006 financial forecasts are NT$400B (US$12.42B) in consolidated revenue, NT$10.8B (US$334.75M) in operating income and NT$10B (US$311.12M) in PAT. The Q1~Q3 results have hit 62.6%, 50.2% and 89.4% of respective targets.

• Acer Inc. consolidated revenue includes revenues from other companies in which Acer Inc. has 50% or more ownership, and already deducts any revenues between Acer Inc. and these companies to avoid double-counting.
• The exchange rates were: US$1: NT$32.437; 2006 forecast - US$1: NT$32.2.
