Acer files patent infringement complaints against Hewlett-Packard in U.S.

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (October 31, 2007) - Acer Inc. has filed patent infringement complaints with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin and International Trade Commission against Hewlett-Packard Development Co.

The complaints filed on October 30, 2007 involve innovations related to personal computers, servers and peripheral devices.

These complaints are part of Acer's response to the "Hewlett-Packard Co. v. Acer Inc. and Acer America Corp." case (No. 2:07-CV-103).

With or without a legal proceeding, Acer persists to take all necessary steps to protect and enforce its patented technologies.
