Hsueh J. Sung joins Acer Inc.'s board of directors |

Sung, vice chairman of Goldman Sachs Asia, has extensive experience in the global financial industry. Hung Rouan expects his appointment to enhance Acer's profile among international investors. Sung joined Goldman Sachs in 1994 as an executive director in the Investment Banking Division. He was named a managing director in 1996 and a partner in 1998. He became co-head of Corporate Finance, Asia-Pacific in 2003 and co-head of Asia Principal Investment Area in 2005. Sung is currently vice chairman of Goldman Sachs Asia and also an advisory director. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Sung worked many years in the investment banking industry in Tokyo, London, Sydney and Hong Kong. He holds an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration (1982), an MA from National Chengchi University, Taiwan (1977) and a BS from National Chiaotung University, Taiwan (1975). Acer's seven-member board of directors is made up of J.T. Wang, Stan Shih, Gianfranco Lanci, Philip Peng of Smart Capital Corp., Hsueh J. Sung for Hung Rouan Investment Corp., Walter Deppeler, and Hsin-I Lin - former chairman of Industrial Technology Research Institute. The supervisors are Carolyn Yeh and George Huang.
