Acer Inc. 1H 2008 financial results: consolidated revenue NT$252.17B (US$8.14B) -- up 31% YOY, operating income NT$5.45B (US$175.85M), PAT NT$5.89B (US$189.98M), EPS NT$2.42

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (August 28, 2008) -- Acer Inc. announces the financial results for the first half (1H) of 2008. Consolidated revenue was NT$252.17B (US$8.14B), growing by 31% year-on-year (YOY). Operating income reached NT$5.45B (US$175.85M) after expensing the employee bonus and the board of directors' remuneration, or would be 66% YOY growth prior to expensing. Acer's profit after tax (PAT) was NT$5.89B (US$189.98M) and earnings per share (EPS) was NT$2.42. The 1H 2007 PAT was NT$7.65B (US$246.79M) and EPS was NT$3.23.

For Q2 2008 results, Acer's consolidated revenue was NT$124.79B (US$4.03B), representing 33% YOY growth. Operating income was NT$2.71B (US$87.47M) after expensing the employee bonus and the board of directors' remuneration, or would be 65% YOY growth prior to expensing. The PAT was NT$2.93B (US$94.70M) and EPS was NT$1.17. The Q2 2007 PAT was NT$1.98B (US$64.01M) and EPS was NT$0.76.
