Acer Inc. 2008 financial results: Consolidated revenue NT$546.27B (US$16.65B) with 18% growth; PAT NT$11.74B (US$357.8M); EPS NT$4.72

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (March 31, 2009) -- Acer Inc.'s board of directors has approved the financial results for year 2008, with the consolidated revenue reaching NT$546.27B (US$16.65B) to represent 18% in annual growth.

Acer's 2008 operating income reached NT$14.07B (US$428.8M) after expensing NT$1.59B (US$48.36M) from employee bonuses and the board of directors’ remuneration, or representing 54% on-year growth prior to expensing. Profits after tax (PAT) reached NT$11.74B (US$357.8M), while earnings-per-share (EPS) was NT$4.72.

For Q4 2008, Acer's consolidated revenue was NT$134.94B (US$4.11B) showing -8% growth on year; operating income was NT$3.98B (US$121.1M), marking 15% growth on year; while operating margin was 2.94%, in line with expectations announced in January of this year.

Acer's shareholders' meeting will be held in Taipei on June 19, 2009.

• Acer Inc. consolidated revenue includes revenues from other companies in which Acer Inc. has 50% or more ownership, and already deducts any revenues between Acer Inc. and these companies to avoid double-counting.
• The exchange rate was US$1: NT$ 32.818.
