Acer Inc. Q1 2009 consolidated financial results: Operating income NT$2.57B (US$75.8M), PAT NT$2.03B (US$59.73M), EPS NT$0.78

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (April 29, 2009) -- Acer Inc.'s board of directors has approved the consolidated financial results for Q1 2009. Consolidated revenues reached NT$119.09B (US$3.51B), showing 6.5% on-year decline; and operating income was NT$2.57B (US$75.8M), showing 6.1% on-year decline.

Profits after tax reached NT$2.03B (US$59.73M), while earnings-per-share (EPS) was NT$0.78. There have been no stock disposals during Q1 2009.

Responding to the global financial crisis, Acer shall keep more cash at hand, and thus, the 2008 dividend shall comprise of NT$2.0 in cash and NT$0.1 in stock.

According to Gartner's preliminary Q1 2009 PC Market Results worldwide for shipments, Acer was the No. 3 Total PC vendor with 13% of market share. Acer was also the fastest growing Total PC vendor among the top three, with 26.7% year-on-year growth.
