Acer Inc. anticipates Q309 revenues to reach NT$167B (US$5.19B); historical highs in quarterly revenue and operating income

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (October 12, 2009) -- Acer Inc. announces that consolidated revenues for the third quarter of 2009 could reach NT$167B (US$5.19B), representing approximately, 40% growth on-quarter or 5% growth on-year. The figure would also mean the highest consolidated revenues for Acer in a single quarter; the last quarterly-revenue high was in Q308.

Also for Q309, the operating income may reach NT$4.7B (US$145.96M) to mark 2.8% of consolidated revenues, and again scoring a historical high for Acer. Profits-after-tax could reach NT$3.45B (US$107.14M).

Acer expects continuing growth in PC shipments from Q309 to Q409. Acer regards the worst period of the global economy is past, and looks forward to an upward trend.

• The consolidated revenue includes revenues from other companies in which Acer Inc. has 50% or more ownership, and already deducts any revenues between Acer Inc. and those companies to avoid double-counting.
