Acer Inc. 2009 preliminary financial results:
Record highs for consolidated revenue NT$ 573.85B (US$17.9B) and operating income NT$15.33B (US$478M);
PAT NT$11.35B (US$ 354 M); EPS NT$4.

TAIPEI, TAIWAN -- February 9, 2010 -- Acer Inc. achieved record highs for year 2009 preliminary financial results: consolidated revenues reached NT$ 573.85B (US$17.9B) representing 5% annual growth and operating income reached NT$15.33B (US$478M) with 9% annual growth.

The 2009 preliminary profits after tax (PAT) was NT$11.35B (US$354M), which includes relatively minor income investment disposal and comprises almost in entirety of Acer’s core business income. Excluding investment disposal gains, the 2009 PAT represents 29% growth over 2008. Meanwhile, 2009 preliminary earnings per share (EPS) was NT$4.3.

For Q4 2009 preliminary results, Acer’s consolidated revenue was NT$168.06B (US$5.2B) for 25% growth on year. Operating income was NT$4.96B (US$155M), marking 25% growth on year. Both results also achieved historical highs.

1. Acer Inc. consolidated revenue includes revenues from other companies in which Acer Inc. has 50% or more ownership, and already deducts any revenues between Acer Inc. and these companies to avoid double-counting.
