Acer Aspire 3820T/TG notebook, Aspire X Series desktop win Computex Taipei Design & Innovation awards; Aspire 8943G notebook captures Gold

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (June 1, 2010) – Acer has captured three Computex Taipei Design & Innovation Awards with the Aspire 3820T/TG and Aspire X Series desktop PC, while the Aspire 8943G notebook garnered one of only four Gold awards. The awards are organized in cooperation with world-leading industrial design institution, International Forum Design, and held in conjunction with the Computex tradeshow.

The Computex Taipei Design & Innovation Awards, in its third year, honor products that stand out through excellent design. The evaluation criteria include degree of innovation, design quality, choice of materials, environmental friendliness, functionality and brand value, among others.

Aspire TimelineX 3820T/TG
The Aspire TimelineX 3820T/TG delivers more than 8 hours¹ of excellent performance and control in an ultra-thin and light form. Measuring less than 1" thin and 1.8 kg in weight, the brush-finished magnesium alloy case and aluminum cover radiates the reliable technology inside. Designed with the user in mind, intuitive location of keys and a screen that opens a full 165 degrees provide easy all-day computing on-the-go. Furthermore, this notebook complies with environmental standards, such as RoHS and WEEE, and is mercury free.

Aspire 8943G
The Aspire 8943G notebook is a first-class multimedia center that delivers the ultimate Hi-Def personal-theater experience. It shines with an impressive 18.4" edge-to-edge full Hi-Def CineCrystal™ LED display and HDMI™ output, accompanied by eloquent Dolby Home Theater v3 and Dolby^® True5.1 surround sound.

The innovative dual-mode touchpad can conveniently be switched between a multi-gesture touchpad and a media console, which launches the Acer Arcade™ Deluxe media suite and provides quick-access media controls for photos, music and video playback.

Aspire X Series
The Aspire X Series desktops portray pure power in an elegant, minimalist chassis made to complement any living environment. At 8.5L in volume size, each model offers fabulous computing while conserving space. The front panel presents a clean façade with easy-access ports concealed at the bottom. Careful selection of material including glossy piano-black finish, mesh texture, and crystal blue power button reflect the Aspire X Series’ style and power.
