We are proud to be part of the Olympic Movement.

From January 1, 2009 we are a Worldwide TOP Partner for both the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Created in 1985, The Olympic Partner (TOP) program is the only sponsorship with exclusive worldwide marketing rights to both Winter and Summer Games. Developed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), this program gives leading corporations around the globe the opportunity to support the organization and staging of the Olympic Games and the development of sustainable sport.

As an event that commands the focus of the media and the attention of the entire world for two weeks every other year, the Olympic Games are one of the most effective international marketing platforms in the world, reaching billions of people in over 200 countries and territories throughout the world*.

The Acer Group's support of the Olympic Movement and the Olympic Games organization will both strengthen the relationship with our customers still further and empower the Acer brand on a global scale. 

The key factor for success of the Acer Group worldwide partnership with the Olympic family is our commitment to excellence, a deep respect for the Olympic traditions and an equal appreciation of our own company within the spirit of the Olympic movement.

For the duration of the partnership, Acer will provide support related to its technology in strict connection with the following Product Categories:

• Personal Computers, including netbook PCs, desktop PCs, laptop PCs, notebook PCs, tablet PCs and Web pads, and car based PCs;
  
• Handheld Computing Devices* (e.g., Pocket PCs);
  
• Computer Related Storage Devices such as hard drives used in computers,
  USB storage devices and disk arrays;
  
• Servers (except in the territory of Canada, and except for UNIX based servers
  in the territories of Great Britain and the USA);
  
• LAN equipment (except in the territory of Canada, Great Britain and the USA);
  
• Motherboards;
  
• Desktop printers (except in the territory of Canada, Great Britain and the USA);
  
• Keyboards, computer monitors, and the peripheral device commonly known
  as a "Mouse."**

* Partner may not emphasize the wireless communication functionality of such devices, and the computing functionalities must be featured. Handheld computing devices that do not have a built-in, full size keyboard (e.g. Pocket PCs), may be marketed by the wireless communications equipment TOP Partner in an Olympic promotion provided that:

1. the wireless communication functionality of such handheld computing devices is featured (highlighted at least as prominently as other functionalities); and
   
2. such handheld computing devices cannot be reasonably characterized as a laptop or notebook computer.

Support of Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and London 2012 Olympic Games

As a TOP Partner in the "Computer equipment products" category, we are actively working with the Olympic Organizing Committee in Vancouver (VANOC) and London Olympic Organizing Committee (LOCOG) to ensure the Olympic Games runs faultlessly.

After successfully installing Acer IT equipment in Vancouver, the Acer team started supporting VANOC for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) from the very first days of 2009. Our team also provided effective support during test runs of several sport events, such as Ruhrgas World Cup Biathlon, ISU World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships and others.

The Acer Group has already commenced cooperation with in London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) in defining and testing the PC equipment for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Being a worldwide supporter of the Olympic Games, the Acer Group considers National Olympic Committees (NOCs) as the principal privileged partners.  We look forward to cooperating with the NOCs by supplying them with the finest Acer computer technology.
