ISO Management System |
|
ISO Operation and Management Acer views the ISO system as a platform for managing corporate quality control and environmental affairs. An ISO implementation committee was established to conduct specific planning, management, implementation and review. The committee keeps track of the overall ISO process, identifies quality aspects and significant environmental aspects (SEA); and determines goals, objectives and programs to facilitate continual improvement. In the spirit of continual advancement, upon the publication of the revised ISO 14001:2004 Acer began planning the transition of its EMS from early 2005. To being with, experts were invited to conduct workshops for Acer's ISO committee members on comparisons between the previous and the latest versions of ISO 14001. This was followed by an EMS review and SEA evaluation, as well as drawing up goals, objectives and programs. Revisions to procedural documents were completed and ISO14001: 2004 certification was acquired on 1 November 2004. Acer ensures quality control and environmental policies are put into practice according to ISO standards by regularly conducting internal and external audits. With the objective of prevention through inspection, defects found by auditors are documented for correction, ensuring that the inspection system serves as a reference for continual improvement.
