2007/2008 Environmental Objectives

Plans to realize the next phase of Acer's environmental objectives in 2007/2008 are in place. The five focal points of our environmental objectives are to fortify our Environmental Management System (EMS), strengthen green product development, expand product recycling and processing services, and strengthen green supply chain management and environmental communication platforms.

Subject   Objective   1. EMS   • Continually reform and operate the environmental management system • Form a core group in Acer that focuses on reducing and monitoring level of greenhouse gas emissions   2. Green Product Development   • Kick-off the HSF Plan to gradually reduce materials containing halogen • Introduce the concept of EuP to R&D and create product Eco Profiles   3. Product Recycling and Treatment Services   • Continue collection of environmental information in other countries and regions, and provide recycling and treatment services to meet market demand while complying with local regulations   4. Green Supply Chain   • Establish comprehensive supplier grading system • Complete green product management system audits of first-tier suppliers •  Advise/require suppliers to improve corporate responsibility   5. Strengthen Environmental Communication Platform   • Continue to update environmental information on Acer's global website • Develop corporate sustainability report
